Closeness to nature
Bad Ratzes extends over two hectares of land, including a wide meadow bordered by a murmuring stream. Surrounded by a forest full of mosses and lichens, with the majestic Schlern massif above, this meadow provides a habitat for a great variety of wildlife, with deer, foxes, badgers, but above all butterflies, bees and other insects present there.
Every spring sees bee colonies established on the meadow. From May to July, the meadow shimmers in all its glory, a sea of colourful flowers and numerous plant species. The meadow plants are simply cut until flowering is finished: the cutting patterns are varied each year and a few loungers are placed in the middle, allowing guests to experience nature and the lively insect activity in close-up.
